Looks like Skegness might be getting a new ASDA store. ASDA has bought some land in Skegness, so with a little luck we’ll have another supermarket to shop from soon.
That would give Skegness Tescos, Morrisons, Iceland, COOP, Lidle, Herron’s and ASDA, which is quite a bit of choice for a town with around 20,000 permanent residents.
More choice for shoppers, but more competition for the high street shops as well which already find it difficult to compete on price with the major supermarkets. I understand ASDA is the cheapest major supermarket (ALDI and Idle are cheaper, though not by much any more), so I guess ASDA is the worst one for the high street shops (good for shoppers though).

A new Asda petrol filling station has opened down Roman Bank in Skegness, it includes several petrol and diesel pumps, a small store with food and also click and collect ‘station’.
