This is a list of shows we will be seeing at the Skegness Embassy Theatre in 2010 during the Spring and Summer period. This is NOT a complete list of Embassy Theatre shows by any means (can’t afford to see them all!), it’s only the shows we will see or have seen (will be updated with ratings through the year).

I can see it’s going to be a fun year for my family and I at the Embassy Theatre.

I will write reviews of these theatre shows when we’ve been to see them. You can find my 2007, 2008 and 2009 show reviews at Skegness Embassy Theatre Review along with a review of the Embassy Theatre.

This will be the first time since 2007 when we started going to the Embassy Theatre that there is a full program of monthly events for us to see. The Embassy Theatre have done well to expand the shows on offer in 2010 compared to previous years there’s something for every generation.

I wrote a article on the new shows at the Embassy for 2010 at What’s on at the Skegness Embassy Theatre 2010 as well.

Skegness Embassy Theatre 2010 Shows

There’s nothing in January at the Embassy that we are that bothered about seeing (we can save our money :-)), but from February to June the Embassy Spring/Summer program of shows is jam packed with shows we will be going to see, at least once a month to see performances YEAH!

In February 2010 we will be going to see the following shows at the Embassy Theatre:

Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dream Coat

Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s colourful Family musical. Craig Chalmers, one of the most popular finalists in the hit BBC series Any Dream Will Do takes on the title role, having delighted TV audiences with his vocal talents.

Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dream Coat is the retelling of the Biblical story of Joseph with a funky and jiving musical numbers. This magical musical is full of unforgettable songs including Any Dream Will Do, Close Ev’ry Door To Me and One More Angel.

WHO’S BAD! a Michael Jackson Tribute Band

All the way from the USA, WHO’S BAD ! will be bringing In glitzy jackets, glittering gloves and 80s regalia, in this production dedicated to the music of Michael Jackson. The show quotes “is an infectious party production that takes audiences on a musical expedition spanning three decades of Michael Jackson’s chart-cresting music”.

We’re not real Michael Jackson fans, but we liked his songs, so are looking forward to seeing WHO’S BAD at the Embassy.

The song list is impressive and includes: ABC, Another Part of Me, Bad, Beat It, Ben, Billie Jean, Black or White, Blame it on the Boogie, Butterflies, Can You Feel It, Dancing Machine, Dirty Diana, Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough, Earth Song, The Girl is Mine, Human Nature, Heartbreak Hotel, I Can’t Help It, I’ll Be There, I Want You Back, Jam, The Lady in My Life, The Love you Save, Man in the Mirror, Never Can Say Goodbye, Off the Wall, PYT, Remember the Time, Rock With You, Shake Your Body Down, She’s Out of My Life, Smooth Criminal, Thriller, Wanna Be Startin’ Something, The Way You Make Me Feel, Working Day and Night, You Are Not Alone, You Rock My World.

In March 2010 we will be going to see the following shows at the Embassy Theatre:

Bon Jovi Experience

We are huge Bon Jovi fans, my hubby in particular, he listens to the Jovi 24-7 (wish I was kidding) since we can’t get to see the man himself a tribute band will do nicely :-)

“The Bon Jovi Experience” is said to be an outstanding tribute to Bon Jovi. They are the only Bon Jovi tribute band in the world to have actually played and shared a stage with Jon Bon Jovi himself! (Fans will have thought there were two Bon Jovi’s on stage that night, so much does lead singer Tony Pearce resemble Jon Bon Jovi!) we will see in March at the Embassy Theatre if Tony Pearce resemble Jon Bon Jovi! critical eye ready :-)

“The Bon Jovi Experience” perform all the great hits: “Livin’ On a Prayer”, “Keep the Faith”, “Bad Medicine”, “You Give Love a Bad Name”, and many, many more.

In April 2010 we will be going to see the following shows at the Embassy Theatre:

Nightfright – The Nightmare of your Life

A horror thriller by Roger S. Mass, Nightfright is a play about a couple Frank and Jenny Gilman who think they have found their dream home, a converted chapel in a quiet country village. The dream soon turns into a nightmare, however, as they are attacked by intruders who seem, for some reason, to be only interested in the contents of the deep freezer. Frank and Jenny investigate and the true horror of their situation soon emerges in this taut and exciting, yet often blackly hilarious, horror thriller.

I don’t know if my hubby will be going to see this play, but me and our son will be going.

HMS Pinafore

HMS Pinafore will be our first ever opera at the Embassy, Performed by the Opera Della Luna Company In true Opera Della Luna style eight multi-talented singer/actors become crew, chorus and principals in a brilliantly fast and hilarious production of this famous comic opera. Since it says it’s a comic opera I thought it would be a good place to start out on opera it also said it has toe tapping tunes, comes across as light hearted enough for someone like me who’s never experienced a opera before, I will have to see if I can persuade my hubby to come along with my son and I.

Bad Boy Johnny and the Prophets of Doom

Last but not least for April 2010 the show we are looking forward to seeing the most Bad Boy Johnny and the Prophets of Doom. This is a Steve Steinmen Show who brings the fantastic Vampires Rock to the Embassy every year and has a huge following, including us! :-) This is a musical that first appeared in Australia where it was a huge hit and Starred a young Russell Crow, and Steve Steinmen is bringing it to the UK in 2010. The musical is about Johnny, born on the wrong side of the tracks to single mother Mary, played by West End favourite Dawn Spence. With a love of music but not a penny to his name, Johnny steals his first guitar and forms a band, The Prophets of Doom.

An evil priest named Father Maclean (Vampires Rock legend Steve Steinman) discovers Johnny’s talent and promises to elevate him to super-stardom. Booked onto an X-factor type show called Have Your Say, Johnny is voted by the public as the person the World would like to see as the new Pope. Not quite the type of super-stardom Johnny was expecting!

All seems well for Johnny in his new, but strange role, until plans emerge that he is to be assassinated on live TV by his very own manager! That’s one thing the Prophets of Doom didn’t see coming. Will Johnny make it through the show?

In May 2010 we will be going to see the following shows at the Embassy Theatre:

Essence of Ireland

We have seen an Irish Show before called Spirit of the Dance and it was a good night out which is why I have decided to go and see Essence of Ireland in May.

It says “In this energetic show, a cast of 17 musicians and dancers bring Irish dancing into a new era, combining breathtaking choreography with traditional Irish songs, as well as hits from popular Irish musicians of today, to create a night out that will appeal to all the family. Essence of Ireland is an unforgettable musical journey through Ireland’s rich history of song and dance.

In June 2010 we will be going to see the following shows at the Embassy Theatre:

Snow White on Ice

The Snow White on Ice world famous Wild Rose Russian Ice Stars has been to the Embassy with Peter Pan on Ice, Beauty and the Beast and Cirque de Glace and we’ve been to see all their Ice shows at the Embassy, they are amazing and never disappoint. Snow White will be the original telling of the story and not Disney’s Snow White, so there will not be any Hi Ho’s, but I can guarantee without even seeing it that there will be plenty of tricks and circus skills to amaze the crowd.

Bat – The Symphony

It will be the first time we have ever been to see Steve Steinmens tribute to Meatloaf “Bat – The Symphony” that he his famous for. In 2010 the Skegness Embassy Theatre will be getting Bat the Symphony. Bat the Symphony will be performed with a 30 piece orchestra, the orchestra has sparked my interest and I can’t wait to see a show that mixes two musical genre that of classical and rock I know Steve Steinmen is going to be great since I see him perform at the theatre every year when he brings Vampires Rock to the Embassy, so I know how much fun the Bat Symphony will be.

That’s all the shows we will be going to see in Spring/Summer 2010 at the Embassy Theatre in Skegness, that is unless I can persuade hubby to spend even more of his hard earned money on me and my theatre bug :-)

I will write reviews on all the theatre shows we see when we’ve been to see them and add links to them above. I’ll write another article on the shows at the Embassy we will be going to see in Autumn Winter later in the year when the Embassy adds more shows.

The Embassy Theatre will be getting a small fortune from us in 2010 with all these great shows :-) drop me a line in the comments below and tell me what shows you will be going to see at the Embassy this Spring/Summer 2010.
